How to Send a Digital Greeting Card on WhatsApp (No Email Needed)

It's your colleague's birthday. Your cousin's Eid. Your friend's last day at work. You want to send something more thoughtful than a sticker and more personal than a forwarded image — a real card, with your own words in it.

And then the small, familiar wall: you don't know their email address.

You know their WhatsApp. You've been talking on it for years. But most digital card services start with the same field — "Recipient's email" — and that's where the thought quietly dies.

We built a way around that wall, and this post shows you how it works.

Send the card the way you actually talk

When you create a card on Zovwy, you now choose how it gets delivered:

Email it through Zovwy. Tell us the recipient's address and we deliver a beautifully designed card email — full artwork, your message, every signature if it's a group card.

Or get a link and share it yourself. Choose "Get a link to share myself" and instead of asking for anyone's email, Zovwy gives you a private link to your finished card. Copy it, and send it wherever the relationship actually lives — WhatsApp, iMessage, Slack, Instagram DMs, a family group chat, or face to face.

Same beautiful card either way. The only difference is who does the delivering: us, or you.

Sending a card on WhatsApp, start to finish

  1. Pick an occasion at zovwy.com/new — Birthday, Eid Mubarak, Diwali, Farewell, Gratitude, and more.
  2. Write your message, or let AI help. Tap ✨ AI write for a heartfelt draft you can edit or replace — in any of 34 languages, adapted with cultural warmth rather than word-for-word translation.
  3. Choose "Get a link to share myself." Enter the recipient's name — that's all we need about them. No email. No phone number. (We'll ask for your own name and email: your email is where replies go and how we count your monthly cards.)
  4. Share it. Your link appears on screen with a copy button, next to a one-tap Share on WhatsApp button that opens WhatsApp with your message ready to send. (We also email you a copy of the link, just in case.)

That's the whole flow — about two minutes, no app for you to install and none for them: the card opens instantly in any browser, on any phone.

When the link is the better way

Family group chats. One Diwali card, dropped once into the family group — grandparents included — instead of hunting down eleven email addresses.

The people you only know on one app. Neighbours, gym friends, community groups, that vendor you only WhatsApp with. The relationship lives in chat; now the card can too.

Farewells and congratulations on LinkedIn. A colleague announces a new job. You have their profile, not their inbox. Card, link, one message.

The perfect-timing card. A link doesn't send itself. Create the card tonight, share it at midnight, or hand it over in person by showing your screen. You control the moment.

Across borders. No postage, no customs, no "which email do they even use anymore" — a card in Arabic, Hindi, or Turkish arrives the second you press send in the app they already open every day.

It works with group signing, too

Group cards work the same way. Turn on group signing, share the signing link with your team, and everyone adds their message — no login needed. When the card is finished, share the card itself anywhere you like. One link to gather the signatures, one link to deliver the moment.

On the free plan, your first group card is included as a one-time trial — current plan limits are at /pricing. (New to group cards? Here's how group signing works.)

A quick, honest word about privacy

Card links are long and unguessable — nobody stumbles onto your card by accident. They're also just links: anyone you forward one to can open it, so share a card link the way you'd share a photo. Links don't expire, which means a card can be saved, re-read, and revisited — birthdays deserve re-reading.

And because the link path never asks for your recipient's email or phone number, there's no contact detail about them for us to store — just the name you put on the card. We think the most private data is the data that never gets collected. (More in our privacy policy.)

Try it on your next occasion

The next time you think "I should send something" — and the very next thought is "…but I don't have their email" — that's the moment this was built for.

Create a card, grab your link, and send it where your people actually are. Free to start, ready in about two minutes, and it might just be the best thing in their chat all day.
